The 2025 Bay of Plenty Young Grower competition aims to inspire and acknowledge the talents of young people employed in the fruit and vegetable sectors in the Bay of Plenty. We have some of the best fruit and vegetables in the country so it goes without saying that there are also a number of very talented young fruit and vegetable growers in the region. The competitors will arrive bright and early on the morning of the competition and progress through the different challenges which occur until early afternoon, then will have time to prepare for the gala dinner where they will participate in a speech competition in front of around 400 esteemed guests.
“The Bay of Plenty Young Grower is such a great platform for local Young Growers to develop their skills and build valuable industry connections. This year's competitors represent the future of the horticulture industry. As a former winner and long-time participant, I have had the privilege of witnessing Young Growers advance in their Horticultural careers through the competition. We encourage everyone to join us and support these talented young growers as they showcase their skills.” – Erin Atkinson. Chair, Bay of Plenty Upskilling Committee
